We are an engineering company for development and design in the business of offshore platforms and ship newbuilding, ship conversion and ship repair. In the aforementioned fields of activity, we develop projects together with shipyards or industrial partners from initiation to the creation of manufacturing documents for production.
The basis for these extensive developments rests in our team, which is made up of experienced engineers and technicians from the design departments of German shipyards and younger engineers which are now being trained. This secures a know-how transfer to the next generation of developmental and design engineers and technicians.
MarBOS acts as a development office for project planning, design and work preparation for complete or partial Projects. A job often begins with a blank white sheet of paper.
MarBOS has gained extensive experience in the overall development of platforms. MarBOS will create coordinated models for the topside as well as for the monopile using modern 3D CAD/CAM applications across all trades.
Coordinated workshop documents and parts lists for production are then created from this, including the necessary extensive QC documents.
The documents for flame cutting and profile processing are created for the steel construction area, tailored to the needs of the respective manufacturing company.
With employees from German shipyards, MarBOS has its strongest know-how in shipbuilding. In this main field of activity, the disciplines of a shipyard are covered that precede production.
The main fields of activity are project planning with ship design, the creation of designs in 3D CAD/CAM applications, including the coordination of supplies of subcontractors.
The complete production documents for steel, outfitting, mechanical engineering and pipeworks are also created. Our portfolio also includes work preparation papers with budgetary time frames for workshop capacity planning.
Additionally, MarBOS built up a measurement technology division. Supplementing the extensive constructive know-how, it made sense to introduce the measurement technology. This makes it possible to perform target-actual-comparison directly in the existing 3D models. This allows to assess the welding processes and shrinkage for large steel assembly groups, herewith pushing the process for precise manufacturing and thus maintaining the competitiveness of the respective steelbuilder.
Other fields are the alignment of large components, propulsion and rudder systems in shipbuilding. The alignment of reference planes is also part of our services.
The company exists at its current location in Bremerhaven since 2009. Our team consists of up to 25 in-house project-related engineers. In order to increase capacity, we maintain fixed connections to other similarly active engineering companies, so that the capacity can be expanded up to 100 engineers/technicians on an order-related basis.
